Just not destined to make cheesecake!!!!!











This weekend I made Laura's Zest for Life cheesecake from EatDrinkLive. And guess what I failed!!!!!!!

The making was fantastic, I even made homemade lemon curd, I assembled everything and put it in the fridge last night at 10. I went down stairs this morning at 10.30 and removed the springform part of the tin and IT COLLAPSED!!!!!!! I am devastated!!! This is the second cheesecake I've made in a month that hasn't worked!!! What am I doing wrong??? Am I just not destined to make cheesecakes???? Boo hoo hoo!!!! Here's the pictures of the making so you can see.......................

Ahh you poor thing after all that work! I've never made one so I'm no good to you! The chocolate tart looks great though:)

I hate it when things like that happen. You try and you try and you try again and it just won't work. Aargh!

You didn't use low-fat cream cheese, did you? My sister did this before and her cheesecake collapsed in a similar fashion - we still ate what she could salvage, however :) The rest of your stuff looks divine anyway!

It was the feckin cream cheese, thought it was normal and I get home tonight to discover it's not!!!! Feel like suing Kraft for misleading me but don't think my defence of I didn't look properly would hold!!! GGGGGGGRRRRR

Sorry to hear about your upset! It happens to the best of us. I made a chocolate mousse on Christmas that was a comedy of errors -- and it wouldn't set after all my efforts. How frustrating!

I'm sorry I've taken forever to get back to you! Xgirl is right the cream cheese has to be full fat and it must be double cream. Because there isn't any gelatine in the recipe it is the richness of these that keeps it all together. Do try again and let us know how you get on!
